About Me
I was brought up in a household where food and cooking were central to everything.. The kitchen really was the heart of our family, Those who live North London will know that barbecues are lit in the garden of every Turkish and Greek Cypriot family. Mum would take her delicious dishes to the neighbours and win them over before they could complain about the bellowing smoke! In those days we used cook a lot of meat but we rarely eat meat nowadays, In fact, I stopped eating red meat in the 90s and we are all now either vegetarians or part-time vegans.
Over the years I gradually became a confident cook like my mother, creating dishes from leftovers or unlikely concoctions from the larder. Now I invent and reinvent recipes to share with friends and family.
